Located on the friendly island of Galveston, Texas, Coastal Dreams
Bed and Breakfast offers a romantic and relaxing atmosphere, with the
personal attention and special touches that only a B&B can provide.
Savor a delicious home cooked breakfast after a restful night's
sleep. Enjoy a romantic weekend away, celebrating a honeymoon or
anniversary. Choose to relax next to the pool, go to the beach, or shop
at the famous "Strand" nearby. Visit Moody Gardens, tour the
beautiful historic homes here on the island, or enjoy an exquisite
dinner at one of our wonderful restaurants.
Whether it's a celebration of a special occasion or a getaway to
quiet the soul, this Galveston bed and breakfast is the place to be.
Built in 1887, this beautiful historic home survived the devastation
of the 1900 hurricane, and still proudly boasts the original front entry
door, hardwood floors, twelve foot ceilings, stained and leaded glass
windows, unique light fixtures, transoms and pocket doors. Special care
has been taken to retain much of the home's original woodwork and
windows during a recent, careful restoring process. Adding to the
historical integrity of the home are many modern conveniences, including
central air, a swimming pool, and hot tub. Enter a home of days gone by,
where you will still find old world charm and southern hospitality.
Coastal Dreams B&B is a proud member of the Professional
Association of Innkeepers International, Galveston Historical
Foundation, the Galveston Chamber of Commerce, and the Galveston Bed
& Breakfast Association.
Breakfast:
Morning greets you with freshly brewed coffee and juice, followed by
a variety of fresh fruits in season. A scrumptious, hearty entrée will
follow, usually consisting of stuffed French toast with vanilla sauce,
omelettes, thick sliced bacon, waffles smothered in strawberries with
whipped cream, or a variety of different casseroles.
Savor your early morning feast while listening to soft music and
enjoying the company of the other guests.
Admire the elegant crystal chandelier and the exquisite antiques
displayed on the hutch that was built by the owner's grandfather.
Early birds can find hot coffee in the hospitality room, where you
can enjoy a few quiet moments and admire the morning sun streaming
through stained glass windows, enveloping you in warmth and well being.
Rooms:
The Atlantic Room:
The Atlantic Room is a large suite, featuring a separate sleeping
area, kitchenette, and private bath. The bedroom has a pillow top king
size bed with 300 thread count sheets. The dark blue comforter adorned
with roses, gold drapes and lace curtains combine to make a
comfortable, yet intimate and romantic environment.
Enjoy watching TV with VCR/DVD in your room, while laying in bed or
sitting on the loveseat. A fireplace in the room makes for an amorous
evening during the winter months. In the kitchenette you'll find a
convection oven, a microwave, refrigerator, toaster, coffee pot, and a
dinette table. Utensils, cookware and dishes are all provided. Bring
home a nice dinner and enjoy it in the privacy of your own little
"home away from home". The private bath has a single person
Jacuzzi/shower combo and overlooks the backyard and pool.
Perfect for the weekday business traveler who needs wireless
internet access or the vacationer who doesn't want to eat every meal
out! This suite can also accommodate a third person.
The Pacific Room:
The Pacific Room is the owner's favorite, featuring a sleigh bed
with king size pillow top mattress. The plush bed is embellished with
a beautiful embroidered comforter, 300 thread count sheets and comfy
pillows.
The intricate window dressings, soft gentle colors, and floral
pictures bring an aura of romance to this charming room. A fireplace
adds to the ambiance during the winter months. An armoire houses a TV
with cable, and VCR/DVD combo. The private bath has a large shower
with a "downpour" showerhead. Enjoy your own private deck,
furnished with a bistro set, overlooking the backyard and pool area.
Other amenities include an alarm clock, hairdryer, and wireless
internet access.
The Gulf Room:
The Gulf Room is our most popular room, with rich, vibrant colors
and soft, elegant touches. The room is a cozy and romantic retreat,
featuring a four poster cherry wood bed with queen pillow top
mattress. The bed is adorned with a dark purple velvet comforter, 300
thread count sheets and down pillows. The dark bedding and gold
curtains compliment the white wainscotting, lending a feeling of total
comfort and well being. The room has cable TV and VCR/DVD combo,
wireless internet access, and alarm clock. Private bath with
"downpour" shower head.
Amenities:
Just steps from your room is the hospitality area, where you will
find books, movies, playing cards, and board games that you can take to
your room.
Hot tea will be served in the formal dining room in the late
afternoon, accompanied by fresh baked cookies or sweet breads.
Complimentary soda, iced tea, and bottled water are also available.
Guests of Coastal Dreams have access to wireless high speed internet, a
fax machine, free local calls, and free cruise parking.
Relax in the shade on the large deck out back, or lay in the sun near
the pool. Go for an invigorating swim, or soak your cares away in the
hot tub. There is a large table with umbrella and a barbeque for your
