The remodeled 1895 Barber Shop has the feeling of a cozy apartment. The sitting room offers a hide-a-bed, dining area, cable TV, and books.

Tucked in the hallway is a kitchenette with a small refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave and sink. The bedroom has French doors that look out on a small, private, flower-filled yard with a gazebo and gas grill.

Your hosts live next door and will deliver a continental breakfast of homemade rolls, coffee cake or blueberry muffins; orange juice & coffee.

Conrad, Iowa with a population of 1000 is a thriving community. We have 3 restaurants, an 1894 General Store that specializes in quilting supplies, a public library which offers one of the best genealogical collections in N.E. Iowa.

Conrad has three city parks, a new Family Aquatic Center, a giant "Dreamland" playground and a 9 hole golf course. We are just 4 miles from Wolf Creek Recreation Area (great for bird watching) and you can walk or bicycle (cross-country skiing in the winter) there on the Comet Trail, a footpath developed on the old railroad bed.

A thirty minute drive will take you to Pine Lake State Park in Eldora, or the Mesqaukee Casino near Legrand.

But if you just want to relax... you're welcome to use the gazebo in our back yard.
